action on the Niger Delta militants, Channels

Lagos he said that Buhari’s government is
not doing enough in handling “ the tension in
the Niger Delta region”.

of religious lunacy and believed aggression
should be met with reasonable force.

terrorists are sub-human and must be
treated as one.
Insurgents have no business taking innocent

request that such barbaric people must be
wiped out.

and promised reporters that he would hold a
press conference and speak on national
issues.

Soyinka’s comments are coming at a period
of militancy resurgence in the Niger Delta
region, with the militants resorting to
bombing oil and gas facilities.
Their activities have cut Nigeria’s oil output
by 700,000 barrels per day to 1.56 million
bpd.
The main militant group in the region that
names itself the Niger Delta Avengers last
week announced the decision for peace talks
with the incumbent government.
