The Camon C9 is the second
smartphone in the “Camon” Series and
successor to hot selling Tecno Camon
C8. It was launched in June 14 2016
at a star-studded event in Ikeja ,

built specifically for picture lovers ,
but the camera setup is more
sophisticated that its predecessor.
Infact , a TECNO official once bragged
about the camera setup on C9.

Africa… Its front camera is

Comparing Each
Component
Design :
When Tecno C8 was launched back in
August , i was one of the first people
to get the device and to be honest , i
was quite impressed the first time i
saw it. I used the device for about
6months before moving over to Gionee
M5 mini (Just recently) , so i have first
hand experience of Tecno C8.
Now , in the aspect of design , Tecno
C8 is a very beautiful device , one that
you will fall in love with at first sight.
It has a full metal body with a leather
textured back cover. Despite the fact
that it comes with a heavy 3000mAh
battery , Tecno C8 still managed to
keep a very slim body ,and feels light
on hand.
On the other hand , Tecno C9 comes
with a full metal design and a non –
removeable back cover. The phone is
more beautiful , lighter and slimmer
than the C8 , and if you as for my
honest opinion , i will pick the c9 over
c8 in terms of design. The
Improvements are worth it.
Performance :
One of the reasons why i ditched my
Tecno C8 was because of the poor
performance. At first , the device
performed OK (when i first got it ) ,
but things began to really slow down
as time goes by. I understand that it is
normal for a phone’s performance to
reduce after using it for a period of
time (wear and tear) , but i believe
that the 1GB RAM on Tecno C8 made
matters worse , despite the fact that it
was running on 64-bit octa-core
processor.
As for the Tecno C9 , it comes with
2GB RAM and a 64bit octa-core
mediatek chipset. It has more RAM
than the Tecno c8 , which means
faster multitasking and a much more
better performance.
Camera Setup :
On the aspect of camera , it is quite
difficult to decide which smartphone
edges the other , but first , lets look at
the camera setup.
The Tecno C8 comes with 13MP back
& 5MP front camera. The camera
relies alot on the LED Flash to take
very beautiful pictures. When i take
pictures with my camon c8 , i noticed
that the colour is much more brighter
than normal , especially selfies. It is as
if it was edited immediately after i
snapped it. I did my research and
found out that Camon C8’s camera
has Complexion Smart Adjust algorithm
that beautifies the face and gets rid of
oily skin when snapping pictures.
Smart!
The camera setup on the Camon C9 is
quite interesting. Firstly , it comes with
13MP back & 13MP front camera
which is quite huge. Next , the front
camera is centralised , which means
the viewing angle will be wider when
taking selfies. Both front and back
camera comes with LED flash ,
however , the LED flash that comes
with the front camera is hidden and
cannot be easily seen , unless you’re
taking selfie.
The positioning of of the front camera
makes it perfect for taking group
selfies , and According to Tecno , the
camon c9 has 83 degree wide angle
for selfies.
The camera also comes with features
such as Visidon , HDR Mode , Smart
Gesture and panorama mode. With
features like this , it will be difficult to
argue against Camon C9 being the
best camera smartphone in Africa.
